Do I need a referral from Kaiser to start therapy?
Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. Details about Psychosis
Psychosis can affect a person’s ability to distinguish between what is real and what is not. It may appear as auditory or visual hallucinations, paranoid beliefs, or disorganized speech and behavior. These symptoms can emerge suddenly or gradually and often leave individuals feeling confused, scared, or ashamed. Family members may feel helpless or unsure of how to support their loved one. Psychosis commonly arises in late adolescence or early adulthood but can occur at any age. Early intervention is key to managing symptoms and reducing long-term impact.
Westside therapists use evidence-based therapies like CBT for Psychosis (CBTp), psychoeducation, ACT, and family-based interventions to help individuals regain a sense of control. Therapy may include building insight, managing distressing thoughts or voices, learning grounding techniques, and setting realistic goals. Some clients benefit from coordination with medical providers for integrated care, including medication support. Each treatment plan is personalized, with a compassionate focus on empowering clients in their recovery journey.
