FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

In-Network For Kaiser Permanente Insurance

Westside Behavioral Care offers one of Colorado’s largest networks of mental health providers (LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, PsyD/PhDs, PMHNPs, etc) dedicated to Kaiser Permanente patients statewide. Established in 1998 with the mission of making appointment scheduling as easy and convenient as possible, Westside’s licensed therapists serve thousands of patients a year by providing supportive counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and more. Appointments are available through in-person sessions across the Denver metro area (Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Boulder, Arvada, etc.) and convenient online therapy statewide.

Thanks to our partnership with Kaiser, members can expect quick access to care (often in as little as 48 hours) without worrying about prior authorizations or referrals. Nearly all Westside therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, meaning you get the care you need at in-network rates. Our team will verify your benefits and share them with your therapist ahead of your first appointment so you’re fully informed going into your first session.

True to our mission, we make scheduling easy for everyone. You can choose your preferred therapist by using our scheduling tool available 24/7, call our friendly receptionists (available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm MST) at (303) 986-4197, complete one of the many contact forms on our website, or email info@westsidebehavioral.com for personal assistance. Our patient-focused approach is designed to give Kaiser members in Colorado a stress-free, positive experience.

Details about LGBTQIA+

LGBTQIA+ individuals may face unique mental health challenges related to identity, acceptance, discrimination, and navigating relationships in environments that are not always inclusive or affirming. These challenges can include anxiety, depression, trauma, internalized shame, and feelings of isolation. Whether someone is exploring their gender identity, coming out to loved ones, healing from rejection, or simply seeking a safe space to be fully themselves, therapy can offer critical support. Emotional stressors often intersect with life transitions, such as starting college, changing careers, or managing family dynamics, making affirming care especially important.

Therapists at Westside Behavioral Care are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and validating environment for LGBTQIA+ clients. Our team includes providers with specialized training and lived experience who understand the complexities of identity and community. Evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care are often used to address anxiety, depression, and minority stress. Some therapists also draw from narrative therapy, EMDR, or family systems work to help clients process difficult experiences and build resilience. If you’re looking for LGBTQIA+-affirming therapy, consider asking providers about their approach to identity, intersectionality, and cultural competence.

We make it easy to connect with affirming care. You can schedule appointments in person at offices throughout the Greater Denver Area or meet with a therapist online from anywhere in Colorado through our secure telehealth platform. All therapists listed here are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many also accept other major insurance plans. Whether you’re seeking support for specific concerns or simply want to speak with someone who truly sees and respects you, Westside Behavioral Care is here to help.
