FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

In-Network For Kaiser Permanente Insurance

Westside Behavioral Care offers one of Colorado’s largest networks of mental health providers (LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, PsyD/PhDs, PMHNPs, etc) dedicated to Kaiser Permanente patients statewide. Established in 1998 with the mission of making appointment scheduling as easy and convenient as possible, Westside’s licensed therapists serve thousands of patients a year by providing supportive counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and more. Appointments are available through in-person sessions across the Denver metro area (Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Boulder, Arvada, etc.) and convenient online therapy statewide.

Thanks to our partnership with Kaiser, members can expect quick access to care (often in as little as 48 hours) without worrying about prior authorizations or referrals. Nearly all Westside therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, meaning you get the care you need at in-network rates. Our team will verify your benefits and share them with your therapist ahead of your first appointment so you’re fully informed going into your first session.

True to our mission, we make scheduling easy for everyone. You can choose your preferred therapist by using our scheduling tool available 24/7, call our friendly receptionists (available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm MST) at (303) 986-4197, complete one of the many contact forms on our website, or email info@westsidebehavioral.com for personal assistance. Our patient-focused approach is designed to give Kaiser members in Colorado a stress-free, positive experience.

Details about Functional Neurological Disorder

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) can involve sudden and often frightening symptoms like limb weakness, non-epileptic seizures, speech problems, or difficulty walking. While these symptoms resemble neurological conditions, they occur without a detectable structural issue in the nervous system. This can leave individuals feeling confused, invalidated, or overwhelmed by physical symptoms that others may not fully understand. FND can affect people of any age and is often connected to stress, trauma, or co-occurring emotional challenges like anxiety or depression.

Westside Behavioral Care therapists approach FND with compassion, validation, and a commitment to collaborative healing. Treatment may involve Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR for trauma, ACT for building psychological flexibility, or mindfulness-based approaches to help reduce symptom flare-ups and emotional distress. Therapy aims to create a safe, empowering space where clients can process underlying issues, reduce the intensity and frequency of symptoms, and reclaim a sense of agency in their lives. Many clients benefit from learning coping skills, stress-reduction strategies, and ways to interpret their body’s signals more helpfully.

Therapy for FND is available both in person throughout the Greater Denver Area, including Westminster, Littleton, Aurora, Golden, and Wheat Ridge, and via secure online sessions for clients anywhere in Colorado. All Westside therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many accept additional major insurance providers. Whether you’re seeking local or remote care, we’re here to support your healing journey with expertise and compassion.
