FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

Details about Exposure and Response Prevention

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is a powerful treatment for individuals facing unwanted intrusive thoughts and ritualistic behaviors, most often associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). People may feel compelled to wash repeatedly, check locks or appliances, count, avoid certain situations, or seek excessive reassurance to feel safe. These behaviors are typically driven by anxiety, guilt, or a fear of harm. While they may provide short-term relief, they often reinforce the cycle over time. The emotional toll can be intense, leading to shame, isolation, and significant disruption to one’s personal and professional life.

Westside Behavioral Care offers ERP therapy guided by skilled clinicians trained in cognitive-behavioral principles. ERP involves facing feared thoughts or situations (exposure) while resisting the urge to perform rituals (response prevention). This structured approach is proven to help the brain rewire its fear response, leading to reduced anxiety and improved functioning. Depending on your unique needs, ERP may be combined with other therapies like ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to build distress tolerance and strengthen values-based living. Our therapists work at your pace and provide consistent support throughout the process.

ERP therapy is available both in person at offices throughout the Greater Denver Area and online across the state of Colorado. All therapists at Westside Behavioral Care are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many accept additional major insurance providers. Whether you’re seeking local, face-to-face sessions or the flexibility of teletherapy, we make it easy to connect with a qualified ERP therapist who fits your needs and preferences.
