FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

Details about Developmental Disability

Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions that begin during childhood and can impact a person’s physical, learning, language, or behavioral development. These may include intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Individuals with developmental disabilities may face challenges with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, or daily living skills. These differences can affect school performance, relationships, independence, and family dynamics. While every individual is unique, many families share feelings of overwhelm, uncertainty, or a deep desire to better support their loved one’s growth and well-being.

Therapists at Westside Behavioral Care bring experience and compassion to working with individuals and families navigating developmental disabilities. Our clinicians may use a combination of evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and skills-based interventions tailored to each person’s abilities and goals. Support may focus on building emotional resilience, improving communication, developing coping strategies, or enhancing social skills. Family involvement is often a key part of therapy, with tools offered for supporting structure, consistency, and connection at home. New clients may want to ask about therapist experience with specific diagnoses and how sessions are adapted to meet developmental needs.

Therapy services for developmental disabilities are accessible across Colorado. Westside Behavioral Care offers in-person appointments at convenient locations throughout the Greater Denver Area, as well as secure online therapy for individuals and families statewide. All of our providers are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many also accept other major insurance plans. Whether you’re seeking support for a child, teen, or adult with a developmental disability, our team is here to provide thoughtful care tailored to your journey.
