FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

Details about Crisis Counseling

Life can shift in an instant, and when it does, crisis counseling offers a safe place to find support and clarity. A crisis might be sparked by a sudden loss, traumatic event, major relationship change, mental health emergency, or overwhelming stress. In these moments, it’s common to feel confused, panicked, numb, or unsure of what to do next. Everyone responds to crisis differently. Some people shut down emotionally, while others may feel intensely anxious, irritable, or hopeless. Crisis counseling provides immediate emotional support and guidance when things feel unmanageable or uncertain.

At Westside Behavioral Care, therapists trained in crisis intervention work quickly to stabilize emotions, identify urgent needs, and begin the path toward healing. Therapy sessions may draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care practices. The focus is often on emotional regulation, safety planning, and short-term coping strategies, with the option to transition into longer-term therapy if needed. Some therapists may also incorporate mindfulness, grounding exercises, or problem-solving techniques. Clients in crisis may want to ask how quickly sessions can begin and what kind of short-term or ongoing support is available.

Compassionate, timely help is available when you need it most. Westside Behavioral Care offers in-person therapy across the Greater Denver Area, as well as secure online sessions for individuals located anywhere in Colorado. All of our providers are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many also accept other major insurance plans. If you’re facing a mental health crisis or navigating a difficult turning point, you don’t have to go through it alone. Our team is here to help you regain stability and support.
