FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

Details about Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness can mean navigating an ongoing physical condition that impacts nearly every aspect of life, physically, emotionally, and socially. Whether it’s an autoimmune disorder, diabetes, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, or another long-term health issue, the journey often involves persistent symptoms, medical appointments, and difficult adjustments. Many individuals also experience anxiety, depression, or grief related to their diagnosis or limitations. It’s not uncommon to feel isolated or misunderstood, especially when others can’t see or fully grasp the toll a chronic illness takes day after day.

Therapists at Westside Behavioral Care understand the unique emotional challenges that come with managing a chronic illness. Our providers use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients in reframing unhelpful thoughts and coping with the mental strain of long-term conditions. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is also commonly used to help people live meaningfully alongside ongoing symptoms. Depending on your needs, therapy may focus on stress reduction, grief support, self-advocacy, pacing strategies, or mindfulness techniques. Many clients find it helpful to ask therapists about experience with chronic illness and the tools they use to support resilience, balance, and emotional wellness.

Support is available both in person at offices across the Greater Denver Area and through secure online therapy anywhere in Colorado. All Westside Behavioral Care providers are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many also accept a variety of other major insurance plans. We’re here to help you find compassionate, accessible care that fits your needs and schedule, because you don’t have to navigate this alone.
