FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

Details about Blended Families

Blended families, also known as stepfamilies, come together with love and hope, but also with unique emotional challenges. Children may struggle with loyalty conflicts or adjusting to new parental figures, while adults often juggle parenting roles, co-parenting dynamics, and shifting family boundaries. It’s common to experience tension, miscommunication, or feelings of exclusion, especially in the early stages of blending households. Even when there’s deep care among family members, navigating trust, respect, and new relationships can feel overwhelming. These issues can affect daily life, school, work, and a sense of belonging at home.

Therapists at Westside Behavioral Care support blended families with compassionate, structured guidance tailored to your family’s needs. Techniques from family systems therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and solution-focused counseling are often used to build trust, improve communication, and create healthy expectations. Therapists may meet with individuals, couples, or the whole family, depending on what feels most helpful. You can expect a judgment-free space to work through conflicts, strengthen bonds, and set routines that support each member. If you’re just beginning this journey or feeling stuck along the way, ask your therapist about approaches that prioritize family connection and emotional safety.

Care for blended families is available both in person throughout the Greater Denver Area and online anywhere in Colorado through secure video sessions. All of our providers are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many accept other major insurance plans as well. Getting support is easier than you think and can make all the difference in helping your family thrive together.
