FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

In-Network For Kaiser Permanente Insurance

Westside Behavioral Care offers one of Colorado’s largest networks of mental health providers (LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, PsyD/PhDs, PMHNPs, etc) dedicated to Kaiser Permanente patients statewide. Established in 1998 with the mission of making appointment scheduling as easy and convenient as possible, Westside’s licensed therapists serve thousands of patients a year by providing supportive counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and more. Appointments are available through in-person sessions across the Denver metro area (Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Boulder, Arvada, etc.) and convenient online therapy statewide.

Thanks to our partnership with Kaiser, members can expect quick access to care (often in as little as 48 hours) without worrying about prior authorizations or referrals. Nearly all Westside therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, meaning you get the care you need at in-network rates. Our team will verify your benefits and share them with your therapist ahead of your first appointment so you’re fully informed going into your first session.

True to our mission, we make scheduling easy for everyone. You can choose your preferred therapist by using our scheduling tool available 24/7, call our friendly receptionists (available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm MST) at (303) 986-4197, complete one of the many contact forms on our website, or email info@westsidebehavioral.com for personal assistance. Our patient-focused approach is designed to give Kaiser members in Colorado a stress-free, positive experience.

Details about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a powerful approach for people who feel stuck in painful thoughts, emotions, or life situations. It’s often helpful for those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, grief, or identity-related struggles. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult feelings, ACT helps people relate to them in healthier, more compassionate ways, while building a life centered around personal values. Many individuals drawn to ACT feel caught between wanting change and feeling overwhelmed by emotional discomfort. This therapy offers practical strategies for increasing psychological flexibility so people can move forward even when things feel hard.

At Westside Behavioral Care, therapists trained in ACT gently guide clients through techniques like mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and values-based action. ACT is especially effective for individuals dealing with persistent emotional pain, avoidance, or rigid thinking patterns. Our therapists may also integrate approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care, depending on each client’s needs. ACT isn’t about “fixing” what’s wrong, it’s about opening up to the present and taking meaningful steps toward what matters most. New clients might want to ask their therapist about how ACT could help them build more resilience and clarity in their everyday lives.

Therapists who offer Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are available for both in-person sessions across the Greater Denver Area and secure online appointments throughout Colorado. Westside Behavioral Care is proud to be in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many of our providers also accept a range of major insurance plans. Whether you’re new to therapy or exploring new approaches, compassionate and skilled support is just a step away.

Working with Children

The 10–12 age range is a meaningful time of transition as children begin preparing for adolescence. At this stage, they’re exploring independence, shaping their identity, and learning to manage more complex social dynamics and academic expectations. It’s common for children in this group to experience challenges like anxiety, peer conflict, school stress, emotional regulation difficulties, or family transitions such as divorce or relocation. This is also a key developmental window for building healthy communication skills and internal resilience before entering the teen years.

Therapists at Westside Behavioral Care create a safe, encouraging environment for children to talk about what’s on their minds and learn practical coping skills. Sessions may include child-led conversations, CBT strategies, problem-solving exercises, and tools for managing stress and emotion. Our providers often integrate family involvement and parent consultations to promote consistency and support outside of sessions. Every therapeutic relationship is tailored to the child’s personality and preferences, ensuring therapy feels comfortable, collaborative, and constructive.

Children ages 10–12 can access therapy through in-person appointments across the Greater Denver Area or through secure virtual sessions from anywhere in Colorado. Our child therapists are credentialed with Kaiser Permanente and many are in-network with additional major insurance providers. Whether you’re looking for emotional support, behavior-focused care, or early mental health intervention, Westside makes high-quality pediatric therapy convenient and approachable for families throughout Colorado.
