FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

In-Network For Kaiser Permanente Insurance

Westside Behavioral Care offers one of Colorado’s largest networks of mental health providers (LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, PsyD/PhDs, PMHNPs, etc) dedicated to Kaiser Permanente patients statewide. Established in 1998 with the mission of making appointment scheduling as easy and convenient as possible, Westside’s licensed therapists serve thousands of patients a year by providing supportive counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and more. Appointments are available through in-person sessions across the Denver metro area (Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Boulder, Arvada, etc.) and convenient online therapy statewide.

Thanks to our partnership with Kaiser, members can expect quick access to care (often in as little as 48 hours) without worrying about prior authorizations or referrals. Nearly all Westside therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, meaning you get the care you need at in-network rates. Our team will verify your benefits and share them with your therapist ahead of your first appointment so you’re fully informed going into your first session.

True to our mission, we make scheduling easy for everyone. You can choose your preferred therapist by using our scheduling tool available 24/7, call our friendly receptionists (available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm MST) at (303) 986-4197, complete one of the many contact forms on our website, or email info@westsidebehavioral.com for personal assistance. Our patient-focused approach is designed to give Kaiser members in Colorado a stress-free, positive experience.

Accessing care in Denver

Therapists offering care throughout Denver serve neighborhoods including Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek, Highlands, Washington Park, Sloan’s Lake, Central Park, Baker, Park Hill, and Five Points. Whether you’re near downtown Denver, commuting through the Denver Tech Center, or located along Colorado Boulevard, therapy is available in person or online throughout the region.

Denver providers work with individuals, couples, and families to address concerns such as trauma, stress, anxiety, grief, depression, and communication challenges. Many therapists offer support tailored to various life stages, cultural backgrounds, and relationship dynamics.

Most therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente and other major insurance carriers. Use the filters above to narrow your search by session type, specialty focus, accepted insurance plans, or provider availability.

Details about Abuse Survivors

Surviving abuse, whether emotional, physical, sexual, or psychological, can leave deep, lasting wounds that impact every part of daily life. Many abuse survivors experience symptoms like anxiety, depression, difficulty trusting others, low self-worth, nightmares, or chronic hypervigilance. These responses are normal reactions to trauma, yet they can make it hard to feel safe, form healthy relationships, or simply get through the day. Abuse can happen to anyone, including children, teens, and adults, and often leads to feelings of shame, guilt, or isolation that make it even harder to reach out for help.

Therapists at Westside Behavioral Care offer compassionate, trauma-informed support to help abuse survivors process their experiences and reclaim their lives. Depending on your needs, therapy may incorporate evidence-based approaches like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These methods help survivors safely work through trauma, build emotional regulation skills, and reconnect with a sense of empowerment and self-worth. Many clients find it helpful to ask potential therapists about their experience with trauma recovery and which modalities they use in sessions.

Healing is possible, and support is within reach. Westside Behavioral Care offers both in-person sessions across the Greater Denver Area and secure online therapy throughout Colorado, making it easy to get started in a way that fits your life. All of our therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many also accept other major insurance providers. Whether you’re seeking gentle support, trauma processing, or a safe space to start rebuilding, we’re here to help you take the next step forward.

Working with Elders

Later adulthood often involves meaningful changes like retirement, physical health shifts, caregiving roles, or the loss of loved ones. These transitions can stir up feelings of grief, loneliness, anxiety, or even depression. At the same time, older adults bring decades of wisdom, experience, and insight to the therapeutic process. Many seek therapy not just for emotional pain, but for personal reflection, greater life satisfaction, or support in facing the uncertainties that aging can bring.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, our therapists offer compassionate, individualized care designed for older adults. Sessions may include life review techniques, coping strategies for chronic illness, grief counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or simply a safe space to talk through current struggles. Providers often integrate family input when helpful, while respecting the autonomy and voice of the senior client throughout the therapeutic journey.

Older adults in Colorado can access care at Westside through local offices in the Greater Denver Area or from the comfort of home via HIPAA-compliant virtual sessions. All therapists are contracted with Kaiser Permanente, and many participate with other major insurance carriers. Whether you’re seeking emotional support, adjustment counseling, or a space for reflection, Westside is committed to helping seniors maintain mental wellness and live with purpose and peace of mind.
